Stacey Douglas

Stacey Douglas, a founding and executive member of the Climbing Coalition, brings a unique blend of business ownership and artistic passion to her role. With roots in climbing that trace back to the early nineties, Stacey's journey has been marked by a love for the sport and a commitment to the development of climbing crags.

As a business owner and artist, Stacey's introduction to climbing occurred when a friend took her on an adventure that left her hooked. The defining moment came when she conquered her first challenging crux, experiencing an adrenaline rush that would fuel her addiction to the sport. Later in her climbing career, she met her husband, and together they played pivotal roles in the development of climbing crags, showcasing her dedication to the growth and expansion of climbing opportunities.

Having relocated from Salt Lake City to Cumberland, Stacey identified a need for advocates to explore the undiscovered climbing potential in Cumberland. This realization helps her serves as an executive member, contributing her problem-solving skills and passion for the sport.

Stacey's favorite climbing experience took place in Ouray, Colorado, where she marveled at the top of an ice climb, reflecting on the journey from being a spectator to actively participating in the sport. Her favorite climbing spot is Joshua Tree, a place that captivated her with its vibrant desert life and endless bouldering opportunities.

In her role as an executive member, Stacey envisions climbers making positive contributions to their community, both economically and by fostering engagement with the sport. She aims to spread awareness about the precious resource of climbing and its significance, advocating for its preservation.

Outside of climbing, Stacey's diverse interests include drawing, plasma cutting, welding, decorating houses, and merchandising.
